Local Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Ben Obese-Jecty, visited the new state of the art Magpas HQ. Ben said after the meeting:
"It was fantastic to have the opportunity to visit Magpas's new headquarters in Alconbury Weald for a guided tour by Chief Executive Dayl Brown and a brief on how operations are conducted.
The new headquarters is a phenomenal achievement and testament to how well run the charity is. The facilities not only include a variety of spaces that can be used by the local community but vitally the operational side of the headquarters has been designed purely in order to enhance the capability of the doctors, medics, aircrew and support staff. It was incredible to have the opportunity to see the facilities and training resources available. Undoubtedly the gold standard of how a facility like this could and should be. A hugely important local resource."
As an aside it was also a highly educational visit, learning that not only has Magpas been operating for over half a century but that they created the concept of the Air Ambulance and in doing so were also responsible for the creation of the pager as a device for contacting doctor's remotely!
