Huntingdonshire District Council has launched a new campaign this month to encourage residents and visitors to explore Huntingdonshire.
'What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire?' is set to showcase the four market towns of Huntingdon, Ramsey, St Ives and St Neots as well as the surrounding areas. Communications are designed to encourage residents to spend time in the local area, whilst giving people reassurance they can shop and socialise safely.
High Streets, town centres and green spaces will all feature as part of the drive to welcome people back to the area in a safe way. Campaign materials will highlight the uniqueness of the district – such as the abundance of green spaces in close proximity to traditional market town centres - and will highlight the opportunity to discover new places and spaces across the area.
Campaign activity will also seek to encourage day trips, evening get-togethers and weekend adventures from visitors outside the area, as part of a wider tourism drive.
Executive Leader of the Council, Councillor Ryan Fuller, said: "We know that the last 18 months have been challenging for residents and businesses across the area, and as we move into a period of recovery, we are using this campaign to champion Huntingdonshire. Our new campaign is designed to reconnect the people who live here with the places on their doorstep – as well as introducing visitors from further afield to the district's hidden gems. We're confident that there's lots to do and discover across Huntingdonshire; we can't wait to showcase it all in the months to come and to support the rebuilding of our local economy together."
Campaign promotions will predominantly appear digitally across the District Council's social media profiles on Facebook and Instagram.
'What Will You Find In Huntingdonshire' is funded by the UK Government Welcome Back Fund, in association with the European Regional Development Fund.
The funding also enables Huntingdonshire District Council to boost the look and feel of local High Streets and support wider community events - with a full plan of works and event programme due to be announced in due course. Sponsorship has already been awarded to Fieldfare; a grassroots organisation driven to help communities connect with the natural history on their doorsteps. HDC's sponsorship under the Welcome Back Fund enables local residents and visitors the opportunity to attend selected upcoming Fieldfare wildlife safaris and experiences, events and workshops in Huntingdonshire at no charge.
