Last week (Tuesday 30th April), Huntingdonshire District Council marked the official launch of its new online Customer Portal.
The portal has been in development since the beginning of the year and offers a single view of council services. It’s most recent release enables Huntingdonshire residents to access Council Tax account information, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Executive Councillor for Customer and Digital, Councillor Darren Tysoe said: “On the day of the official launch, Huntingdonshire District Council recorded five times the usual number of customer registrations, with almost half of those new customers linking their Council Tax account. And since launching, around 50% of registrations are out of hours, highlighting the need for this new digital access to council services.
Our residents are choosing to engage with the council online and access their accounts, which also include Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support, at a time that is convenient to them. The Customer Portal presents an opportunity to experience a more modern and flexible approach to accessing council services.”
The Customer Portal continues the Conservative Administration's strategy to become more effective and efficient in the way the Council delivers services, creating a more customer focussed organisation. There will be an ongoing programme of enhancement during the coming months to ensure that the service meets the needs of customers whilst providing excellent value for money.
