Huntingdonshire District Council will be hosting a number of demonstrations of new technology that will make car parking more convenient for you over . It is hoped that ‘Pay for What You Use’ will encourage you to stay longer in our towns with no rush back to your car in fear of a parking ticket expiring.
The equipment manufacturer, Cale UK, is bringing its demonstration vehicle to car parks in Huntingdon on 25 April, St Neots on 14 May and St Ives on 16 May, enabling you to try ‘Pay for What you Use’ technology.
The demonstrations will take place at the following locations:
- 14 May – St Neots (Tebutts Road)
- 16 May – St Ives (Cattle Market)
Come along to experience the improved convenience of card and contactless payment along with the ability to start and end your parking when you choose - ‘paying for what you use’. The full roll out of the technology will take place from 9 May and take approximately 8 weeks.
Executive Councillor for Operations and Regulation, Cllr Marge Beuttell said: "This is an exciting opportunity for car park users to get first-hand experience with the equipment we are rolling out in our car parks. The new technology being trailed is one of a range of improvements in off-street car parking, approved in February and will be made in a phased approach over the coming months."
