Having previously raised a number of complaints directly with train operator Great Northern Rail, Jonathan Djanogly MP says a significant number of passengers have ‘reached the end of their tether’ with the company which runs services from Huntingdon and St Neots to London Kings Cross.
The Member of Parliament for the Huntingdon constituency is now calling for constituents who use Great Northern Rail services to contact him by Monday 10th October with examples of the issues they have experienced since the company was awarded the operating franchise. He will then present this evidence to the Rail Minister in support of his call for immediate service improvements.
Jonathan Djanogly commented:
‘I have been raising issues with Great Northern concerning the standard of service being received by my constituents for some months now. Over the summer I received multiple complaints from constituents who have expressed their frustration at repeated train cancellations and delays. I am no longer prepared just to accept Great Northern’s excuses at face value. I would urge my constituents to contact me with details of their own experiences so that I can make a full case to the Rail Minister, Paul Maynard MP. If Great Northern is unable to provide a satisfactory service, then it is absolutely right that the franchise agreement should be reviewed by Ministers.’
